Comments:
The Tanfoglio Witness
1911 is another in a series of CO2-powered
replicas made in Taiwan by Wingun and distributed
world-wide by Cybergun (France). The U.S. importer is Palco
Sports. The trademarks on this gun are officially licensed from
Tanfoglio (Italy). The Witness 1911 is, itself, a modified copy
of the venerable Colt 1911. This all plastic replica is a good reproduction of the details from the
original firearm with the addition of competition features such
as double thumb safeties and an extended beaver tail. It also
has a Weaver-style accessory rail under the dust cover. However,
the only functional parts are the trigger and magazine release.
All the other replica parts (slide, safeties, hammer, sights, etc.) are
non-functional and molded into the plastic frame as a single unit. The trigger has a
long smooth pull but has no distinct breaking point. This gun packs a lot
of power, its measured muzzle velocity is about 80 fps greater
than the factory specs, and it has decent accuracy for a
smooth-bore BB gun.

from a bench rest at 15' using Daisy Avanti BBs (5.5 gr).
The highest velocity measured was 474 fps, the lowest was 460 fps
(average of the 10-shot string was 470 fps, s = 5). A six shot string
fired with open sights using Daisy Avanti BBs grouped at 0.75". Click the thumbnail below to see a
