KSC Glock 34 with Prezine Mag Well
and extended mag base

Comments: This airsoft gas blow-back pistol is made in Japan by KSC. The gun is a replica of a Glock Model 34 with a metal slide and outer barrel, both from KSC. The metal slide version of the KSC G34 is harder to find than the standard model with a plastic slide. Cobra Airsoft in Hong Kong seems to be the best source for this gun. The KSC metal slide is a little sloppy on the frame, which allows the outer/inner barrel to move around during cycling. Although this will have some affect on the gun's accuracy, it should be noted that the accuracy of the KSC is much better than you would expect for a gun costing less than $150. Unlike the TM Glock 34, the KSC G34 replicates Glock's Safe Action trigger system where the slide half-cocks the striker and the trigger completes the cocking action. The KSC G34 has a functional trigger safety as well. KSC replicated the slightly longer magazine release button and tab on the slide lock lever that is standard on the real-steel Glock 34. This greatly speeds up magazine changes and locking/releasing the slide. Overall, this is a decent gun right out of the box for Standard Division practical shooting use. A few minor upgrades (improved guide rod and recoil spring, upgraded rocket valve, and hi-flo valve) turn it into a first-rate shooter.

Performance: Measurements were made on 2/15/08 at a temperature of 75 ºF and 14' elevation. A ten shot string was fired from a bench rest at 15' using Tokyo Marui BBs (0.25 g), propane gas, and custom hi-flo valve. The highest velocity measured was 311 fps and the lowest was 296 fps (average of the 10-shot string was 301 fps, s = 4). A six shot string fired offhand using open sights, TM BBs (.25 g), and propane gas grouped at 0.56". Click the thumbnails below to see larger images. Click here for a description of the measurement methods.

When used with the standard KSC valve, the average velocity was 279 fps (s=6) and the groupings were not as tight. The custom hi-flo valve improved the muzzle velocity by 21 fps and reduced the variation in velocity, which improved accuracy.

Take Down: To remove the slide, remove the magazine, then pull down on both sides of the slide release tabs and  push the slide forward and off. Remove the recoil spring and guide. The outer/inner barrel assembly will then tilt down and come out of the gun.

The KSC G34 comes with a tool for adjusting the amount of hop. The slide does not have to be removed for this adjustment. Turning the control clockwise increases the hop.

Front View: In this photo you can clearly see the extended mag release button and the tab on the slide lock lever. KSC only includes these parts on the Model G34.

Loading BBs: The KSC G34 comes with a loading tool to speed loading BBs into the magazine. Pull the spring follower down until it locks in place, attach the loading adapter, and pour BBs into the tube. When filled, push on the follower tab to release it. On KSC magazines, BBs can only be loaded through the magazine's lip.

Loading Gas: The input gas valve cover must be pulled back to expose the valve. It is retained by the bottom part of the magazine's spring follower.

Packaging: The KSC G34 comes in a plain gray cardboard box with no markings other than a simple warning label. The instruction manual is very complete, but written entirely in Japanese. For some reason, KSC chose to picture the gun on the cover of the instruction manual resting next to live ammunition. This must give U.S. Customs inspectors heart palpitations when they open the box.
