Comments:
The Crosman C41 is a good
replica of the Walther P38, which was
introduced in 1938 as the replacement for the Luger in the
German army. The Crosman C41 is made for Crosman in Taiwan,
probably by Wingun. The C41 is made entirely of metal except for
the grips. The Crosman C41 closely resembles the Crosman 338,
which went out of production in 1991. The performance of the two
airguns is similar, with the 338 producing slightly higher
velocities and having better accuracy. The main difference
between the two guns is the manner in which BBs are handled. In
the C41, BBs are fed from a removable spring-loaded magazine.
The 338 uses a gravity-feed mechanism. The C41 has a smooth DAO
trigger with a long pull and a good release. The C41 is a decent
plinker, but the accuracy is only fair for a BB pistol in this
price range.
Performance:
Measurements were made on
6/22/09 at a temperature of 75 ºF and 14' elevation. A ten shot
string was fired from a bench rest at 15' using Crosman
Copperhead BBs (5.1 gr).
The highest velocity measured was 446 fps, the lowest was 405 fps
(average of the 10-shot string was 421 fps, s = 13). A six shot string
fired with open sights grouped at 1.02". Click the thumbnail below to see a
