Comments:
This 177 caliber airgun
was introduced in 2004 as a replacement for the 22 caliber Daisy
Powerline 622X. This all plastic economy airgun handles well and
has an excellent single/double-action trigger. The rotary
magazine is designed to handle both lead pellets and steel BBs.
The major drawback is the lack of an adjustable rear sight.
Performance:
Measurements were made on
8/03/06 at a temperature of 86 ºF and 14' elevation. A ten shot
string was fired from a bench rest at 15' using Gamo Match
pellets (7.7 gr).
The highest velocity measured was 444 fps, the lowest was 426 fps
(average of the 10-shot string was 438 fps). A six shot string
fired with open sights grouped at 0.87". Click the thumbnail below to see a

Loading Pellets: This gun will shoot both .177 lead pellets and steel BBs. The magazine has an internal magnet to hold BBs in the chambers. A magazine must be in the breech before firing the gun with a CO2 charge. Otherwise, the barrel will flip up and may damage the barrel latch. Notice that, like on the Model 500, the rear side of the barrel is still labeled "OPEN", even though there is now a spring-loaded latch for releasing the barrel. |
