Daisy introduced this
single-shot replica of the famous Beretta semi-auto at a time when most other replicas were
repeaters. It didn't last long on the market. This is a powerful airgun with very good accuracy. The Model 500 is the immediate
predecessor to the 6XX series, which is essentially the same gun
with the addition of a six-shot rotating clip. Unlike the Model
92, which preceded the Model 500, the Model 500 has the Daisy
logo on the grip instead of the Beretta logo. Good examples of
the Daisy 500 are getting pretty hard to find.
Performance:
Measurements were made on
8/28/06 at a temperature of 86 ºF and 14' elevation. A ten shot string was fired
from a bench rest at 15' using JSB Match Diabolo pellets (8.0 gr).
The highest velocity measured was 467 fps, the lowest was 433 fps
(average of the 10-shot string was 454 fps). A six shot string
