Comments:
This
air pistol is a Crosman Model 338 with a plastic shell styled
like an UZI Carbine (see bottom view below). Crosman classified
this as a pistol even though it has an integral folding stock,
which is why it is included in this collection. Performance is
generally comparable to the Model 338, although the muzzle
velocity is about 70 fps less. This airgun was only on the
market for two years and is difficult to find in good condition.
Performance:
Measurements were made on
8/06/06 at a temperature of 84 ºF and 14' elevation. A ten shot
string was fired from a bench rest at 15' using Crosman
Copperhead BBs (5.1 gr).
The highest velocity measured was 385 fps, the lowest was 333 fps
(average of the 10-shot string was 362 fps). A six shot string
